‘The kite of self-confidence only flies with the help of the string of self-doubt.’ This was given to me by a friend many years ago and sits on my fridge as a cue to trust my instincts.
I guess there have been many influences over time and one was Virago Press in the late 20th century and recently rereading of Women Who Run with Wolves and for me the chapter on Nourishing the Creative Self has had me rethinking. Having been trained in traditional techniques, I use them to create my own expression. That creative urge is not a steady stream it ebbs and flows in the idling, dawdling moments of the day and night.
Patricia trained in textiles in Camarthen and Winchester, UK and now works and lives in the Barossa, South Australia
